Make your experience more streamlined with this two hour workshop that will cover basic camera settings, custom camera settings and optimization of your camera so you get the shot. Our workshop is free of charge, and is taught by James Dewhirst. James is a seasoned professional, and has used a variety of Fuji products, including the new X-T1. If you feel like you aren’t getting the most out of your Fuji camera, are new to Fuji, or could just use a few pointers, this workshop is for you!
For those non-believers who say film is dead: at Englewood Camera, we are inclined to disagree! With more and more companies switching to digital photography, analog photographers are left with minimal resources for purchasing and processing film.
Englewood Camera offers a great selection on 35mm and 120mm film; check out top films from Ilford, Fujifilm and Kodak in C-41 color print, E-6 slide film, and B&W print film. Are you a student? Save 10% on film! We process C-41 and B&W in house with fast turn around times too, and can scan your negatives onto a CD. So analog photographers: don’t fret! Englewood Camera is your one stop shop for all things film.

Miss Polaroid film? Well, miss it no more! As of today, Englewood Camera is a stocking dealer of The Impossible Project products. In 2008, founders Florian “Doc” Kaps and Andre Bosman bought the last Polaroid factory in the world; the company name was founded on the seemingly impossible task of redeveloping Polaroid film. With many of the chemicals found in original Polaroid films banned, The Impossible Project sought to recreate this much loved medium–and as a result, photographers can use their beloved type 600 and SX-70 cameras once again!
Now in stock: type SX-70 color film and type 600 color film. We are waiting for some very cool B&W instant film to ship; be on the lookout for that! Don’t have a Polaroid camera? We have refurbished, classic 600 cameras in stock–and they come with 2 packs of film! Stop by the store to check out this very cool, very classic film.
Impossible instant film is an integral film: the film itself contains all the chemicals necessary for photo development. When an Impossible photo comes out of the camera it is blue. What you then see as the image appears is a chemical reaction. On ejection, the rollers of the camera distribute a re-agent paste, stored in a pod inside the frame, over the whole image and start a photochemical process. The re-agent then causes special chemicals (developer layer, image layer, timing layer and acid layer) to react, and silver compound layers to process – thus producing blue, green and red light patterns, which then result in an image. Getting this reaction right is extremely difficult. So manufacturing Impossible film in our factory in Enschede is far from easy. In fact, it is really complicated: A single photo consists of more than 27 components that have to be put together in the right way in order to make things happen. That’s why we are working hard to constantly improve the whole process and the quality of our film.
And don’t forget about all the creative things you can do with instant film! According to The Impossible Project:
Impossible film can be used and abused in hundreds of ways – some of which even we haven’t heard of. The Impossible community is famous for it’s creativity and drive to challenge our material: Emulsion lifts, experiments with heat, multiple exposures, collaging… the possibilities are endless. Our ever growing user gallery is testament to that. So get your feet wet (and your fingers) and start experimenting with Impossible instant film. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

CES began in Las Vegas yesterday; over the course of the week, many of the leading consumer electronic brands will unveil new products. Yesterday, announcements of new Fuji and Sony gear hit the internet. For those of you who haven’t seen the new product releases, here are a few highlights:
Fujifilm announced a few new compact digital cameras, but currently Englewood Camera only carries the X-Series line and will not be offering these models. New to the X-Series system is the much-anticipated X100s digital camera–now in black! The price remains at $1299.99, and will be available (fingers crossed!) in February 2014. Call us to pre-order this camera.
For those of you anxiously waiting for a new portrait lens from Fuji, the wait is over! Announced yesterday, the new XF 56mm f/1.2 R lens boasts fast autofocus, a wide aperture for shallow depth of field and low-light shooting, as well as an HT-EBC multi-layer coating to minimize ghosting and flare. Fuji’s new lens offers a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 85mm, plus a seven-blade aperture diaphragm that helps create smooth and round bokeh effects. This lens will be hitting our shelves by March 2014, and will retail for $999.
Also announced at CES is a new interchangeable lens camera from Sony, the ILCE5000. Designed for DSLR users but without the bulk, the new ILCE5000 offers a 20.1 megapixel Exmor APS-C Sensor, 180° tilting LCD screen, WiFi for seamless file sharing and transfers, Play Memories camera apps, and ISO rating up to 16000. The camera is outfitted with a 16-50mm OSS lens, retails for $599, and should be hitting the shelves late March 2014.
Another exciting product announced by Sony is a new Action Cam! The HDR-AS100V offers a new splash proof body, advanced image stabilization with Active Mode, built-in GPS, has built-in WiFi, and can be controlled via smart phone (with NFC-compatible devices). The HDR-AS100V can shoot 13.5 megapixel still frames, and records XAVC 60-fps video. This Action Cam also has a professional quality Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar lens with an ultra-wide 170° view. Retailing for $299, the HDR-AS100V should be available by late April 2014.
Add a Live View remote watch for wrist control to the HDR-AS100V! This versatile remote allows for more creative video (and still) opportunities. Snag one of these bundles for only $399; estimated availability is April 2014.
As we hear about more product announcements, we will post on our blog. Thank you for looking!
